The 911 GT3 R Rennsport: What Rulebook?

Alright, let's start this off by addressing the elephant in the room. It's been a while, I haven't posted a story in months, I've been bogged down, but now I'm back and better than ever, I'm here to deliver more automotive and racing news than I have before and I'm here to do it consistently, so expect a new story every 2-3 days if not more. Thank you for your continued support.

I know what you're thinking, so I'll just come out and say it. What the f***k is that thing? Why's it look like something straight out of a video game? Just looking at that huge ass wing on the back makes me feel like it should be censored. Well everyone, this is the newly revealed Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport (What a damn mouthful) and it's here to deliver an exhilarating track only experience, and it's here to do it well.

This little piece of Porsche history was developed to celebrate the Rennsport Reunion at the Laguna Seca, the largest gathering of Porsches in the world. This monstrous track-only car was developed with raw power in mind. Based on the 911 GT3 R, this car was developed to provide a one of a kind experience   by being a full blow GT3 racer, but with the FIA's rulebook completely disregarded, with aero and power not usually allowed in FIA sanctioned races.

This Porsche was designed with the utmost power in mind. The vice president of Porsche Motorsport describes this car as a 911 in its "most primal form" delivering an experience unlike any other currently available from Porsche. This vehicle is not able to race in many sanctioned events, with absolutely no power being held back, but this vehicle is not any less safe than a true FIA sanctioned race car, with a roll cage and all other safety regulations by the FIA in place on the interior of this car.

On the outside we get an insanely aggressive body kit, harkening back to the heritage of Porsche racers. The first thing to catch many's eyes is the insanely large wing in the back, which is a nice little callback to the design of the Porsche 935/77's insane wing when it ran in FIA sanctioned events during the 70s. This wing is so large that it requires two extra supports to hold it up. This car also totes an aerodynamically updated front end, with the nose being adapted and having added cooling ducts. The wheel arches have also been reworked giving it a wider and more aggressive stance to allow for quicker turns.

Under the hood we get the usual 911 GT3 R engine, just tuned to produce a little more power. Due to usual FIA regulations, the normal GT3 R is limited to 557 horsepower, but because this car doesn't give a damn about the rules, it's toting an impressive and honestly insane 611 horsepower. This engine is specifically designed to run on E25 fuel, though it has been confirmed to be able to run on conventional fuels, though we do not know at what cost to horsepower. This car is also running the usual sequential six-speed found in the normal Porsche race car.

All in all, this thing is a monster, and in my opinion represents racing in its rawest form. The sheer power partnered with the lack of driving assists is enough to make my little car enthusiast heart happy. Now in terms of being able to own one, good luck, the asking price for one of these is $1,046,000 plus taxes and shipping costs. Not the mention the fact that only 77 are being produced and at the time of writing this article, they have all been spoken for. Now to just convince Porsche to let me test drive one......
